Grey Area was written, directed and produced in my last semester at Columbia College Chicago in collaboration with some of the most talented artists in the area.
When Taylor Grey has to come home from college for her grandfather’s birthday party, she realizes her family has changed in her absence, including the addition of her aunt’s suspicious new boyfriend. Taylor must step up, amidst her conflicting feelings, to protect her family from this threat and redefine what “home” is.
This was my last semester project at Columbia College in 2018, with the most talented and amazing group of artists & friends. It was such a blast collaborating with the incredibly talented Jena Snelling to bring her vision to life and create a playful, colorful world that twists together great music and not-so-great family drama. It’s fun to work on a narrative where the tone can easily switch between scenes and where the lines between fantasy and reality are constantly changing. I have sooo many great memories working with her on this — lots of late nights, brainstorm sessions, and Jena was always sharing the coolest music with me. The movie poster for this is hanging above my desk! (see below)
